Anica Galindo is an American composer whose compositions have been performed across the country and internationally. Her expressive works are inspired by the beauty of words and imagery, weaving dramatic stories through lyricism. Her most recent work, Swept Away, for SATB chorus and string orchestra, was premiered by The Choral Project and the San Jose Chamber Orchestra on December 21, 2013.
In 2008, For Lambent Isles was premiered by the San Jose Youth Chamber Orchestra and, the following year, was performed for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. It was later performed by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Her next project, Trinitas, commissioned in 2008, is a set of three pieces exploring the renewing power of the Trinity, with the final chapter having been premiered on March 5, 2011. That same year, These Feathered Walls, for solo cello and string orchestra, was commissioned and premiered by the San Jose Chamber Orchestra.
